"Slou" was born to inspire a slower, more intentional lifestyle. This particular volume centres around food, and encourages the reader to savour each and every moment of a meal.
Building on the concept of "slow", the art direction is approached with the clear intention of conveying a deep sense of calm and tranquillity during the act of reading. The goal was for the reader to quite literally feel the movement as they turned each page. This is why the design embraces generous breathing space and highly legible type — an invitation to pause.
At the heart of the slow philosophy is a celebration of natural rhythm and presence. This is reflected by curating imagery that feels close, familiar, and deeply rooted in everyday life — scenes that allow the reader to recognise themselves, their rituals, their memories. It’s intimate, honest, and quietly expressive.
